The 1st ODI between India and Afghanistan was played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, where India registered a brilliant victory by 7 wickets.
The match started late due to rain, and because of the weather conditions, it was reduced to a 25-over game.
India won the match after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Afghanistan batted first and scored 194 runs, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz playing a brilliant knock of 102 runs off 51 balls.
In response, India successfully chased the target with 13 balls remaining. Shubman Gill (c) remained unbeaten on 84 runs and played a key role in the victory.

Afghanistan could not complete their full quota of overs and were bowled out for 194 runs in 24.5 overs.
India played this match without Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, but Rohit Sharma was part of the team.
In this match, two players made their debut for India.
In the same match, Indian bowler Gurnoor Brar made his debut and delivered an impressive spell, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs in 4.5 overs.
Gurnoor Brar took the wickets of Ibrahim Zadran, Rashid Khan, and Zia-ur-Rehman in the match.
In this match, Harsh Dubey made his debut for India and made an impact by taking three wickets with his bowling.
Harsh Dubey dismissed Hashmatullah Shahidi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and AM Ghazanfar during the match.
India captain Shubman Gill played a solid innings, while KL Rahul supported him well at the other end. Both shared a strong partnership, helping India comfortably chase the target.
India achieved the target in 22.5 overs after losing 3 wickets and secured a convincing 7-wicket victory.
With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.
The next ODI of the series will be played on June 17 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Apart from these three players, no other batter from Afghanistan managed to reach double figures. Hashmatullah Shahidi (c) scored 27 runs off 30 balls, while Azmatullah Omarzai made 26 runs off 16 balls.
Ibrahim Zadran scored 1 run, Sediqullah Atal was dismissed for 0, Rahmat Shah made 3 runs, Mohammad Nabi scored 9 runs, Rashid Khan also scored 9 runs, AM Ghazanfar was out for 0, and Ziaur Rahman made 4 runs. Mohammad Saleem remained not out on 1 run.

Shubman Gill (c) was the top scorer with an unbeaten 84 runs off 66 balls, hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Ishan Kishan also contributed 34 runs off 22 balls, which included 3 fours and 1 six.
In this match, Shreyas Iyer scored the fewest runs for India, making 12 runs off 15 balls, including 1 four.
KL Rahul finished the game unbeaten on 39 runs off 19 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes.
