Noida and Ghaziabad are major industrial areas of Uttar Pradesh, where workers began protesting over wages. During the protests, incidents of arson, vandalism, and stone-pelting were reported in several areas, including Sector 60 in Noida, with reports of damage coming from other sectors as well. Meanwhile, the police have arrested more than 300 people so far.
The Noida police are closely monitoring the entire area from the control room and are in action mode.

On Monday, a large number of workers started protesting in the Phase-2 area of Noida. They said that they are paid low salaries, have to work long hours, and are not paid on time for overtime.
During the protest, several workers set vehicles on fire, which turned the demonstration violent. Some police vehicles were also burned, and incidents of stone-pelting were reported in several areas.
When the police received information about the situation, they immediately took action. To disperse the crowd, they used tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. By the afternoon, the police had managed to control things to some extent, and by the evening,

protests were continuing intermittently in some areas. However, by night, the police had brought the situation fully under control, and so far, no major damage has been reported.
Reports suggest that the workers are demanding salaries similar to those in Haryana, along with equal pay for overtime work. Over the last two days, talks have been ongoing between the workers and the police. So far, the situation remains under control.
Amid the protest, traffic in Noida was severely affected. A long traffic jam formed at the Delhi–Noida border, leaving thousands of people stranded on the roads.
