Last year, on 22 April, a terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed. After that, a military conflict broke out between India and Pakistan.
At that time, action was taken against Pakistan and an operation named “Operation Sindoor” was launched, in which India targeted several terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and destroyed them, and many terrorists were killed.
After India’s action, Pakistan also gave its response a name and called it “Marka-e-Haq.”
On the completion of one year, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said, “Today marks one year of 'Marka-e-Haq.'" This is not just a date on the calendar but a story of courage, unity, and strong determination. It is a story in which every soldier stood firm and every citizen stood behind them.”
He said, “Last year when we were attacked, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan responded in a restrained and clear manner. Our response was well thought out, responsible, and precisely targeted. It was not driven by emotions but guided by principles.”
Before Pakistan’s statement, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X, “Even after one year today, there is no reduction in our resolve to defeat terrorism and dismantle its network.”

The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said, “Today, we are marking the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. The entire world saw the Pahalgam terrorist attack for what it was. We gave a fitting response to Pakistan for its sponsorship of cross-border terrorism. The world knows that cross-border terrorism has long been used by Pakistan as an instrument of state policy. India has every right to defend itself against terrorism. We will continue to work to strengthen the global fight against terrorism.”
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said, “Our position on the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) has been consistent. The IWT is currently in abeyance in response to Pakistan’s sponsorship of cross-border terrorism. Pakistan must credibly and irrevocably renounce its support for cross-border terrorism.”
Pakistan Army’s ISPR Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that India has only seen about 10 to 15 percent of their strength so far.
He said, “We were ready then, and we are ready even today. If anyone has doubts, let them know that we have already presented an example of our strength. This time, on 24 August, a grand parade will be held in which we will show our people a small demonstration of our strength.”
The spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said, “Our message to India is clear: whatever you choose to do, whether conventional or unconventional, we are standing here and we will respond with full force.”
Pakistan said that they are fully ready. They stated that whether the conflict is on land, in the air, at sea, or in cyberspace, they will not allow any harm to Pakistan and will do whatever is necessary for the country.
