Samsung has not yet announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but speculations about the company's next flagship phone have begun to emerge.
Leaks say that the new phone will be announced as early as January 2027, will have a larger battery capacity, will use a new display technology, and possibly will have different processors in different markets.
All the details listed below are from leaks and unofficial sources only and may differ in the final version. As one spec sheet creator said, there was no official announcement, and all the information is leaked.
The Galaxy S26 came out in February 2026, and the Galaxy S25 series was launched in January 2025.
As per Lanzuk's tip (who has proven to be reliable for Samsung leaks as per SamMobile), the Galaxy S27 is likely to be launched in early January 2027. Other sources reveal that Samsung has already secured all major parts for the Galaxy S27.
However, some other publications give conflicting dates.
As per Cashify, the launch can take place in January or February 2027. Android Headlines predicts that the smartphone is expected to become official sometime during Q1 2027 and even mentions that changes can occur. Finally, Geeky Gadgets speculates about January 10th to 15th, but its reports usually come from unconfirmed information.
One prediction places the estimated price range for the Galaxy S27 Ultra at $1,399 to
$1,499 for the United States.
This estimate has been given on the basis of leak reports and is not confirmed by Samsung. Pricing may also depend on the cost of components since the cost of memory increased several times within the last year.
Most frequently talked about change is the upgrade in battery capacity. For instance, Ultra models of Samsung have been using a 5,000mAh battery since Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020, per Tom's Guide.
As can be seen from leaks regarding the S27 Ultra, the phone will have a 5,700 mAh battery capacity alongside 60 W charging power. Thus, if the information turns out to be true, it will be Samsung's first battery upgrade in approximately six years.
Leaked information about the processor is different. According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in all regions.
On the other hand, the Korean website The Elec says that Samsung is considering both the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and the Exynos 2700, which is the company's own product. There was a leak regarding the name of the processor being the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, possibly an overclocked version.
Samsung is also weighing LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage for the Pro and Ultra models, according to the leaks.
These would be faster than the current standards, but the cost could be high given rising memory prices. Some listings show 12GB of RAM for the Ultra, though others suggest that more may be possible.
Possible improvements to the display might be:
- M16 OLED: An alleged display technology providing higher brightness, color precision, and efficiency.
- DC dimming: The rumored feature, which is known for reducing flickering in low brightness mode.
- Front camera: According to rumors, there might be a new front-facing camera, and Android Headlines claims that Samsung may manage to fit it without having a significant cutout.
- In addition, one news source mentions the display size being 6.9 inches with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 200 MP main camera, although this information has not been confirmed.
Concerning the software, reports also vary. While some sources claim that it will be launched with One UI 9.5, others claim that it will use One UI 9.0.
It is also reported that the design leaks show that the phone will be a successor of the previous model and will be available in a size similar to its predecessor. In addition, there was a rumor about Samsung releasing two Ultra phones, but it is yet to be confirmed by any source.
An early launch will ensure that Samsung is ahead of its competitors, including the new iPhone by Apple in the fall.
An early launch will also allow Samsung more time to market its phone before competing models arrive during the Mobile World Congress in March. However, one problem that may arise, according to Geeky Gadgets, is that the launch period might be too tight for fixing processor problems.
Phone rumors tend to have elements that are true and false even this long before a launch date.
Technical features like the battery or chips and the price can always be modified late in development, and prices are often changed just before the event. Any number in this article should be considered provisional until Samsung's announcement.
Invitations for Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked events generally start rolling out a couple of weeks ahead of the event.
Therefore, the official date for the event can be confirmed by December or January.
Further leaks, including credible renders and certification listings, can be expected closer to the release.
No response from Samsung has been reported yet regarding the leaked information.
