American streamer Zack Hoyt, aka Asmongold, found out on August 6, 2026, that his secondary Twitch account, ZackRawrr, was blocked because of violating the Twitch community guidelines.
This happened after Hoyt had streamed a reaction three days earlier on one of the videos made by content creator Nick Shirley about the problems of Moroccan migrants trying to cross the border in Ceuta, Spain.
In his livestreaming session, Hoyt discussed how lethal force should be used towards those who are trying to enter the country illegally, despite whether they are boys or girls, and called the migrants dehumanized terms while describing families with kids as a manipulation tool.
As has been the custom, Twitch failed to announce the reasons for the suspension, thereby allowing the fans and the media outlets to link the ban directly to the livestream based on its timing alone.
According to the policy regarding the hateful conduct on the site, one of the items that Twitch enforces as a protected characteristic is the immigration status, together with the race, ethnicity, national origin, and religion of the people—information used by many commentators to explain the enforcement action taken in this case.
Hoyt was not new to the troubles with Twitch's moderation staff due to his politically charged remarks. In October 2024, Hoyt had already faced a ban after calling Palestinians an "inferior culture" and subsequently issuing an apology and stepping back from his leadership positions at the streamer collective called One True King and the PC hardware manufacturer called Starforge Systems, which were both co-founded by him.
Hoyt’s stance in this matter contrasted sharply from his actions following his 2024 case, as he had little remorse for his statements.
Discussing the case of suspension, Hoyt claimed that he would neither rescind nor apologize for his statement since a massive wave of immigration with ten thousand people could be a reason for his views, although at the same time he admitted that his manner of conveying information might be rough.
The reaction of the community regarding the banning has gone down the usual line in the streaming industry. There were some viewers and fellow creators who criticized Hoyt's words; however, there were those who supported the action of the platform on Reddit, stating that they had been personally responsible for reporting Hoyt’s stream.
Hoyt's supporters saw the case as another act of selective punishment against a popular person from the right side politically.
The suspension also came along with an unconnected disclosure by Hoyt, who confessed that he had been through a health scare during the suspension with symptoms that reminded him of what his dead father had gone through before passing away in 2025. He said that he was okay but would keep a close eye on the matter.
Since the suspension will last two weeks, Hoyt will be allowed back to his ZackRawrr channel at the earliest date on August 20, 2026, if Twitch does not extend or make any changes to his suspension.
Hoyt says that he will be appealing the decision in order to reduce the length of the ban, but he may also consider moving some of his content to the competitor Kick stream site, where he has been maintaining a parallel channel with many subscribers of his own. It is worth noting that the suspension will only affect his secondary Twitch channel and not his primary one, which has many followers.
