A two-week ceasefire had recently been agreed between the US and Iran. Before that, a major update came from the US—Donald Trump said on Sunday that an American delegation will travel to Pakistan tomorrow, and talks will take place in Islamabad on Monday. This time, JD Vance will not be part of the American delegation.
This time, the American delegation includes Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Brad Cooper. JD Vance will not be traveling to Pakistan for the second round of talks.
These talks could prove to be highly significant, as a great deal has transpired between the United States and Iran over the past 24 hours. Iran had opened the Strait of Hormuz, but within just 24 hours, it closed it once again. Iran asserts that the United States repeatedly breaches trust and maintains a blockade against the country. Iran has explicitly stated that the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until the United States lifts these blockades. Meanwhile, a second round of talks between the United States and Iran is now set to take place.
Just before the talks, Trump accused Iran of breaking the ceasefire. He said that Iran opened fire on ships from France and the United Kingdom passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

While the US has already planned to send its team to Pakistan, there has been no official confirmation from Iran yet on whether it will participate in the talks or not.
According to Iranian state media reports, Iran has not yet made a final decision on whether it will participate in these talks or not.

'Sources inside Iran' reported that the outlook on talks with the US is not very positive. It further said that another source stated, ‘As long as the US continues its maritime blockade, Iran will not even consider the second round of talks in Islamabad.
Some reports are also suggesting that Iran may send its team to Pakistan on Tuesday.
If we go by Iranian state media reports, Iran has not yet made a final decision on whether it will go to Pakistan for talks with the US.
