Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that some understanding has been reached on certain issues between Iran and the United States.

Iran had earlier indicated that progress was made on some issues with the US, while differences remained on a few key points.

Esmail Baghaei said that the delay in reaching this agreement is due to the contradictory stance of US officials and their repeated threats of attacking Iran from time to time.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during his visit to Delhi and while speaking to reporters, said that Iran and the US could reach an agreement to end the war.

This statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was made on Monday.

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that a deal with Iran is likely to happen, and added that he is not in a hurry to reach an agreement.

Trump Says He Does Not Make Bad Deals Amid Iran Talks:

US President Donald Trump has said that he has instructed the negotiators dealing with Iran not to rush into any agreement.

US President Donald Trump has said that he will make a good agreement with Iran, and in the meantime he criticized the nuclear deal reached with Iran under former President Barack Obama.

According to US media reports, Iran and the United States are in talks on several key points, including extending the ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and further negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.

Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social….

If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and proper one, not like the one made by Obama, which gave Iran massive amounts of CASH, and a clear and open path to a Nuclear Weapon. Our deal is the exact opposite, but nobody has seen it, or knows what it is. It isn’t even fully negotiated yet. So don’t listen to the losers, who are critical about something they know nothing about. Unlike those before me who should have solved this problem many years ago, I don’t make bad deals! A delegation led by the Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf—which also includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi—arrived in Qatar on Monday.

According to Iranian state media reports, this visit is aimed at continuing the diplomatic process that began in recent weeks through Pakistan’s mediation to end the war and is still ongoing.

Reports suggest that the visit to Qatar was made to continue discussions under the economic commission and to review the release of frozen assets.

Earlier, a Qatari delegation had visited Iran last year.

One of the key points in the talks with the United States is the release of Iran’s frozen assets.
