M Netanyahu has shared information that Roman Gofman is the new chief of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad.
Major General Roman Gofman has officially taken charge of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. He will serve as the 14th Director of the agency.
In this position, he has been appointed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Roman built his path on his own and overcame all challenges. After many years of a military career, I chose him to be my military secretary during the most critical period for the country.
Today, after appointing him to the position, he has officially assumed office as the head of Mossad.

Before Roman Gofman’s appointment as Mossad chief, petitions were filed in the Supreme Court challenging his selection. After reviewing the case, the court dismissed all the petitions, and following that decision, he officially assumed office.
Roman Gofman is also facing another controversy in Israel, where he has been linked to allegations of involvement in a past influence operation. However, he has currently been cleared of these allegations.
This is the first time in Israel’s history that the head of the Mossad intelligence agency has been appointed without prior intelligence experience, and such a high-level position has been given to him.

He was born in 1976 in Belarus. When he was 14 years old, he moved to Israel.
He holds a master’s degree in political science and national security from the University of Haifa.
He has three daughters.
Roman Gofman joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1995 and served the country, eventually reaching the rank of Major General (Aluf).
Before becoming the Mossad chief, he served as the military secretary to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in May 2024.
On October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched its attack, Roman Gofman was present there, and while fighting the terrorists, he was seriously injured.
His lack of traditional intelligence experience and his appointment as the head of the world-renowned Mossad are also being widely discussed around the world.
