IPL 2026 Match 8: Today’s match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Delhi Capitals won the match by 6 wickets. Mumbai Indians had set a target of 163 runs, which DC chased down in just 18.1 overs. Sameer Rizvi played a शानदार innings of 90 runs and led his team to victory.

This is the Delhi Capitals’ second win of the season. They had won their first match against LSG by 6 wickets. As for the Mumbai Indians, this is their first defeat of the season; they had won their opening match against KKR by 6 wickets.

DC Batting:

In this match, DC was chasing the target, but they did not get a good start. KL Rahul got out after scoring just 1 run, and shortly after, Nitish Rana’s wicket fell as well—he was out for 0 runs.

After that, Pathum Nissanka added 44 runs for the team, including 6 fours and 1 six. Then, the impact player Sameer Rizvi scored 90 runs off 51 balls, hitting 7 fours and 7 sixes, completely turning the course of the match. His wicket was taken by Corbin Bosch after a long time, and the remaining runs were comfortably finished by David Miller and Tristan Stubbs—Miller scored 21 runs and Stubbs 3 runs, both remaining not out. DC easily won the match.

MI Batting:

MI batted first and set a target of 162 for DC. From MI’s side, only three players performed well with the bat—let’s take a look at those players.

Rohit Sharma scored 35 runs off 26 balls, hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Thereafter, Suryakumar Yadav (c) played a solid innings of 51 runs off 36 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Towards the end, Naman Dhir added 28 runs off 21 balls, with two fours and one six. Apart from these three players, no one else from MI could make a significant contribution for the team.

The rest of the players did not contribute much. Ryan Rickelton scored just 9 runs off 11 balls, while Tilak Varma was dismissed for 0. Sherfane Rutherford managed to add only five runs for the team.

Towards the end, Mitchell Santner remained not out on 18 runs, and Corbin Bosch also stayed unbeaten on 11 runs, with both players hitting 2 fours each.
