The National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET 2026 exam that was held on May 3, 2026. The decision to cancel the exam was taken after approval from the central government.
The National Testing Agency said that the NEET 2026 exam will be conducted again, and the new exam schedule and admit cards will be released soon. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for more updates.
The National Testing Agency wrote on the X platform.....
“The Government of India has decided to hand over this case to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The National Testing Agency will fully cooperate with the investigation and provide all the required documents to the CBI.
Sharing more details, the National Testing Agency said that students will not need to register again and no extra fee will be charged for the re-exam of NEET 2026. The fees already paid by students will be refunded, and the NTA will conduct the exam using its own resources.”

Rahul Gandhi, an Indian National Congress MP and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, raised several questions after the cancellation of the NEET 2026 exam.

“Heard the news about the paper leak of NEET 2026.
This is no longer an examination — NEET has become an auction.
Several questions were reportedly being sold on WhatsApp 42 hours before the exam.
More than 2.2 million students studied day and night for a year, burning their eyes with hard work, and in just one night their future was openly auctioned in the market. This is not the first time.
In the last 10 years, 89 paper leaks have occurred, and 48 exams had to be conducted again. Every time the same promises are made, and then the same silence follows.
Modi ji, when you pass the cost of every failure onto the public, the future of poor children is also included in that cost.
The trust of 2.2 million students has been broken. And there is no greater threat to the dreams of India’s youth than the Modi government.
I stand with India’s youth. This is an extremely difficult time—I understand that. But this system will not remain like this. Together, we will change it.”

After the cancellation of NEET 2026, Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Chief Minister of Delhi, strongly criticized the government. He said that if the government cannot even conduct an exam properly, how will it run the country?
Arvind Kejriwal said….
“I know how hard students have to study and how much effort it takes. Parents spend their entire life’s savings to educate their children. So far, the NEET exam has been leaked four times. If the paper keeps leaking repeatedly, it means the people involved in this are receiving political protection.
The NEET paper has been leaked four times before—in 2017, 2021, 2024, and 2026. The people involved in these paper leaks are still out on bail, and no strict action has been taken against them so far.
Everyone might as well start preparing for the next exam leak, because this is what keeps happening. I say this with great responsibility—running a government is very difficult. If those in power cannot even conduct an exam properly, how will they run the government?"

Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, questioned what guarantee there is that the exam paper will not be leaked again.

"What guarantee is there that if the exam is conducted again, the paper will not be leaked again?
This news has created immense anger and frustration among millions of students and their families against the corrupt system of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
As long as the corrupt BJP government remains in power, the examination system will continue to run on the path of leaks. Exams will keep getting leaked while the BJP government remains in power; only after it leaves will the examination system be fixed.
A BJP government means a failed government."
