On Tuesday, the BJP made a major organizational change by appointing new presidents in four states — Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Tripura have now got new party presidents.
In Delhi, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra has been appointed as the party president, while Virendra Sachdeva was serving as the Delhi BJP chief until now.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has been appointed as the party president, while Sunil Jakhar was serving as the BJP state president until now.
In Haryana, Dr. Archana Gupta has been appointed as the new party president, while Mohan Lal Badoli was serving as the BJP state president until now.
In Tripura, Abhishek Debroy has been appointed as the party president, while Rajib Bhattacharjee was serving as the BJP Tripura state president until now.
Only Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva had completed his tenure, while the terms of the previous state presidents in Punjab, Haryana, and Tripura had not yet ended.

Harsh Malhotra is considered a prominent face in the BJP. In 2026, he was appointed as the Delhi BJP president. He is currently the Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi and serves as the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways in the Modi 3.0 government.
Harsh Malhotra was born on April 24, 1964, into a Punjabi family. His parents, late V.K. Malhotra and late Raj Malhotra, were both teachers. He completed his schooling in Delhi and later earned a B.Sc. (Honours) in Botany from Hansraj College, Delhi University. He also completed an LLB degree afterward.
Harsh Malhotra served as a Yuva Morcha Mandal President and district secretary between 2005 and 2007. Later in 2005, he became the BJP District General Secretary (Organisation), and in 2007, he was promoted to the post of BJP District President.
In 2012, Harsh Malhotra won his first election and became a Municipal Councillor from the Welcome Ward in East Delhi.
After that, Harsh Malhotra got his biggest breakthrough in 2015 when he became the Mayor of East Delhi. During his tenure, he worked on the “Kachre Se Kanchan” initiative and also served as the Chairman of the EDMC Education Committee.
After that, Harsh Malhotra never looked back. He later became the Delhi BJP General Secretary and worked as a strategist in the 2019 Delhi Lok Sabha elections. In 2024, the BJP replaced cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir with Harsh Malhotra as its candidate from the East Delhi constituency, where he registered a massive victory by a margin of over 93,000 votes.
In 2024, Harsh Malhotra took oath as the Minister of State (MoS) for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways in the central government.

In Punjab, Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has been appointed as the new BJP president.
Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon comes from a highly influential and prominent Jat-Sikh family in Punjab, and his appointment is expected to help the BJP strengthen its outreach within the Sikh community in Punjab as well as across the country.
Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon is a two-time MLA from the Barnala Assembly constituency in Punjab. He won the election from this seat for the first time in 2007 and was again elected as an MLA from the same constituency in 2012.
Before joining the BJP, Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon spent a long time in the Congress party, where he served as a Senior Vice President and also worked as an AICC member.
Several reports have claimed that Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon is very close to Amarinder Singh.
Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon joined the BJP in 2022.
Along with being a politician, Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon is also a prominent businessman.
Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon is considered a major political leader in Punjab’s Malwa region.
With the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections approaching, the BJP has given a major responsibility to Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon.

The BJP has appointed Dr. Archana Gupta as the new Haryana BJP state president. Until now, Mohan Lal Badoli was serving as the Haryana BJP state president.
The appointment of Dr. Archana Gupta as the Haryana BJP state president is being seen as a historic decision, as she has become only the second woman to hold the post in the state.
Before entering politics, Dr. Archana Gupta was a doctor by profession and worked as a radiologist.
Before entering active politics, Dr. Archana Gupta had long-standing associations with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Vishva Hindu Parishad.
In 2020, Dr. Archana Gupta was appointed as the Panipat BJP district president. During her tenure, she played an important role in strengthening the BJP in Panipat.
Dr. Archana Gupta has also served as the president of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Panipat.
By appointing Dr. Archana Gupta as the Haryana BJP president, the BJP has sent a strong message of “women empowerment.”

In Tripura, the BJP has given a major responsibility to Abhishek Debroy by appointing him as the state party president in 2026.
Currently, Abhishek Debroy is an MLA from the Matarbari (32) constituency in the Tripura Assembly.
Abhishek Debroy won his first election in the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections.
Abhishek Debroy is considered one of the youngest and most energetic leaders in Tripura BJP. Born in 1982, he is regarded as a prominent young leader in the party.
Before this, Abhishek Debroy had served as the BJP district president of Gomati district.
