LaLiga winners remain on course for yet another success of the season following their convincing 4-1 win over Rayo Vallecano at the Bernabéu with double goals and two assists from Kylian Mbappé.
The reigning champions, Real Madrid, maintained their excellent form in the 2026-27 season with a convincing 4-1 win over Rayo Vallecano in the fifth matchday of LaLiga at the Bernabéu.

After the goal scored by Camello, Rayo came out strongly. Florian Lejeune and Pedro Díaz both got chances to score, and Tsitaishvili kept creating troubles down the flank for Madrid. Yet, even during this period of the game, Real Madrid was not really troubled about any full recovery of the opponents.
With Ibrahima Konaté and Antonio Rüdiger commanding the backline well, and substitutes Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni providing some fresh legs in midfield, Madrid managed to restore their authority.
With the game approaching its end, Real Madrid started dictating once again. The player who was substituted during the course of the game, Arda Güler, did good work on the right, and Vinícius Júnior kept trying to get his second.
There were still several chances for Madrid to add to the scoreline — Bellingham saved the ball, Rüdiger shot at Audero from distance, and Güler saved one himself — before the visitors finally scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute. Mbappé showed his killer instinct and scored his second, sealing the 4-1 victory for his side.
Rayo looked to score an injury-time consolation for themselves through sub Alemão, who tested the opposition goalkeeper with a few shots on target during stoppage time, yet the ball in Thibaut Courtois' net remained safe as the match came to its conclusion.
The outcome is definitely a statement made by Real Madrid following a disappointing performance in the prior match, with this victory once again proving how vital Mbappé is for this team—his two goals and one assist mean that he now has five goals to his name across the first five games of this campaign.
