oday is a very important day for the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal because, for the first time, the BJP has formed its government in the state, and its chief minister is Suvendu Adhikari.
In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, along with other senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Suvendu Adhikari took the oath of office as Chief Minister in the Bengali language.
Along with him, five people also took oaths as ministers: Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Khudiram Tudu, and Nisith Pramanik.
There was a huge crowd of Bharatiya Janata Party workers at the CM swearing-in ceremony.
Before taking oath as Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari posted on X and said:”
“A historic dawn for West Bengal indeed.
It is a moment of profound pride and jubilation to welcome visionary leader Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji to the City of Joy.
Today, as we witness the swearing-in ceremony of the first-ever BJP government in West Bengal since independence, we fulfill the dreams of our founding fathers.
Today marks the end of decades of misrule and the beginning of a 'Double Engine' era of development, peace, and prosperity.
The era of 'Sonar Bangla' officially begins.
Welcome, Pradhan Mantri Ji.”
At the event, the Bharatiya Janata Party also paid tribute to party workers who had lost their lives in violence during the rule of the All India Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal.
On Friday, during a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party legislative party, Suvendu Adhikari was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party in the presence of Amit Shah.
After that, Suvendu Adhikari met the Governor of West Bengal and staked a claim to form the government.
For the first time in history, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to form a government in West Bengal.
On 4 May, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 208 seats and created history across West Bengal.
He congratulated Suvendu Adhikari on X through a post and wished him well on becoming chief minister.
“Congratulations to Shri Suvendu Adhikari Ji on taking an oath as West Bengal’s chief minister. He has made a mark as a leader who has remained deeply connected to the people and understood their aspirations from close quarters. My best wishes to him for a fruitful tenure ahead.”
After that, five people took the oath as ministers, and Narendra Modi congratulated all of them and said on X:
“Congratulations to Dilip Ghosh Ji, Agnimitra Paul Ji, Ashok Kirtania Ji, Kshudiram Tudu Ji and Nisith Pramanik Ji on taking an oath as ministers in the government of West Bengal. These leaders have worked tirelessly at the grassroots and served people. I am confident they will further strengthen West Bengal’s development journey as ministers. My best wishes.”
Amit Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari and all other colleagues for becoming members of the Council of Ministers, and said this in a post on X.
