he elections in West Bengal don’t seem to be ending. First, voting was held in two phases, then re-polling took place at 15 booths, and now, on May 21, voting will be held again at all 285 polling stations in South 24 Parganas.
According to PTI News, the Election Commission has decided to conduct re-polling at all 285 polling stations in South 24 Parganas. This decision was taken because irregularities during the earlier voting and incidents that disrupted the democratic process had come to light.
The Election Commission said that it carefully examined the reports of the Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Officer, Returning Officer, and other officials and also considered the views of observers, after which this decision was taken.
The observers stated in their report that incidents such as voter intimidation, unauthorised presence inside polling booths, and concerns about possible tampering had come to light.
After reviewing all the points, the Commission decided that re-polling will be held at all polling stations in the Falta Assembly constituency on May 21.
During this, strict security will be ensured so that voting can take place freely.
Voting in the Falta Assembly constituency will take place on May 21, 2026, and the counting will be held on May 24.
Election Commission officials said that arrangements such as deployment of central forces, micro-observers, and webcasting will be made to ensure that no irregularities occur this time.
